Different fibres and yarn act differently. Learn more here.
1-PLY YARN
We love 1-ply yarn, as it gives the garment a natural look. This yarn pills more as the fibres are more exposed than in a yarn that is spun of more plies. The pilling will stop after a while.
2 and 3-PLY YARN
Gives you more dureable garments, and adds more stretch.
CABELSPUN YARN
The yarn is put together by several thin plies, and gives the finished garment good stretch. Looks a bit like cotton.
FIBRE
Make sure to choose the right fibre for your project.
Merino
A very versitile fibre. Gives you warm an light garments.
Alpaca
The fibres are pretty short, and some fibres will come off during knitting. Most fibres will be locked into the stitches when you´re finished. A very warm and soft fibre.
Angora
A super soft fibre. Hard to spin alone, so it is ofte combined with wool or nylon.
Cashmere
Perhaps the most exclusive fibre in the world. Suitable all year along, as it is both cooling and warming.
Mohair
Like angora, hard to spin alone. Often combined with silk.
Silk
Soft and shiny. A pretty dense fibre, which will give you a heavier result than wool, but with an outstanding finish.
